Dear TNBA member, The previous message that was sent out yesterday was primarily due to the self-imposed deadline of providing an update no later than April 1, 2020. This morning, our cabinet had a call meeting (Conference Call) and discussed the current events that have transpired. First of all, we have fully confirmed that several of our members have been stricken with the COVID-19 and has been responsible for the death of several of our members INCLUDING that of our past president, Mr. Perry Daniels! With that being established, we have collectively decided to POSTPONE our May 21-May 31, 2020 national championship tournament and convention. We are attempting to establish dates for sometime this summer of 2020 and it takes a lot of coordination for this to happen which is ongoing. Most of the bowling centers and hotels are on extremely limited staff and or completely un-available right now. We are requesting that all those that have submitted their entries for the tournament as well as those that have paid for attending the convention to wait until the new dates have been established and determine if they will work for you and your schedule. As previously stated, we will continue to closely monitor on a daily basis the status of ongoing events from various local, city, state and national governmental entities, the private sector as well as the guidance form the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the World Health Organization regarding the coronavirus disease 2019 aka COVID-19. Starting this week, we will be providing updates on no less than a weekly basis (possibly more often as specific situations may dictate). We want once again reassure you that we are taking every reasonable precaution to promote a safe and healthy environment for our members, their families and the public in general. For now, we ask everyone to follow the suggested protocol of self-quarantine, social distancing, and staying away for others if you find yourself with the known symptoms and/or feeling ill! In the spirit of Sportsmanship, Fellowship and Friendship, Dewann Clark, President The National Bowling Association, Inc. |
